Quirky Frog

At Quirky Frog, we’re known for the social media strategy, the marketing magic, and the PR wins- but this week, we’re putting the spotlight where it truly belongs: on the incredible nurses who make the aesthetics industry what it is.

This International Nurses Day, we want to say thank you. Thank you to the nurses who have pivoted into aesthetics and brought their care, empathy, and clinical brilliance to the treatment room. Thank you to the nurses who juggle skincare, injectables, consultations, and business ownership all in one day. Thank you for doing it all with such grace, professionalism, and heart.

We’re lucky enough to work with some of the most talented aesthetic nurses in the UK. And we don’t say that lightly. Our clients are the ones setting standards in skin health, safety, patient trust, and aesthetic excellence. They’re also the ones answering emails at 10pm, calming nervous patients, squeezing in those extra appointments, and still managing to post the occasional reel. (We see you. And we love you for it.)

Aesthetic nurses bring more than just technical skill to the table. They bring clinical knowledge, an eye for detail, a patient-first attitude, and a deep understanding of holistic care. While medical aesthetics might be a newer field for some, it’s one where nurses are leading the way- educating patients, delivering results, and doing it all with ethical integrity and safety front of mind.

It’s also a field where nurses are often doing everything. They’re clinicians and business owners. Medical professionals and content creators. Educators and team leaders. They handle complications with grace and celebrate results with humility. They write their own protocols, stock their own cupboards, and often work behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

International Nurses Day is a reminder that all of that work deserves recognition. The long hours, the emotional energy, the extra mile- it matters. And it’s building something brilliant.

Nurses Make the Industry Safer

There’s a reason so many patients feel safer in the hands of a nurse: because they are. Nurses in aesthetics are trained to assess risk, spot red flags, and manage adverse events. They bring hospital-grade care to clinic environments, often improving patient outcomes and reducing the likelihood of complications. In an unregulated industry, nurses are a voice of reassurance and clinical confidence.

Many of the nurses we work with also use their platform to educate. Whether it’s posting about the dangers of black market filler, advocating for patient safety, or calling out unethical practices- they’re not afraid to speak up. And that makes the industry better for everyone.

Let’s not forget the human side of aesthetics. Great results are important, but so is trust. So is comfort. And so is feeling listened to. Nurses have a way of making people feel seen, heard, and safe. That emotional intelligence is what turns one-off appointments into long-term relationships.

At Quirky Frog, we talk a lot about brand voice, tone, and messaging. Nurses have that built-in. The best clinic owners are often the best communicators and more often than not, they started their journey at the bedside, learning how to read people, calm fears, and offer genuine reassurance.

From launching new clinics to landing press coverage, building digital marketing campaigns to running social media accounts- we get to support nurses every day in building their dream businesses. And we couldn’t be prouder.

The clinics we work with are known for their integrity, passion, and purpose. They’re founded by people who care deeply about their patients, their teams, and their industry. And they’re often led by nurses who have worked nights, weekends, and everything in between to get where they are today.

Working in this industry, we’re constantly inspired by the stories we hear, about the patients you’ve helped, the confidence you’ve restored, the businesses you’ve built from scratch. It’s why we do what we do. Because when we support you, we’re supporting something bigger than aesthetics. We’re supporting care. We’re supporting courage. We’re supporting community.

Now We’ve Shared Why We Love Them… What Do They Love About Being Nurses?

Khatra Paterson, KP Aesthetics

“I went into nursing to help people, and what I love most is making a real difference in someone’s time of need. Whether it’s helping them feel heard, seen, or regain their confidence, it’s an incredible privilege.

As a midwife, I was fortunate to support new mums and dads as they welcomed new life- it was challenging, but deeply rewarding. Ultimately, being a nurse means being an advocate, understanding people’s needs, and standing beside them when they need it most.”

Caroline Hall, R&R Aesthetics

“Being a nurse has always been more than just a job to me – it’s a calling. I feel incredibly lucky to wake up every day and do something I genuinely love.

Nursing, to me, has always been about care – and that hasn’t changed just because I’m in aesthetics. I still get to support people, listen to them, reassure them, and celebrate those little wins that make a big difference. Seeing happy faces walk out of the clinic every day is the most rewarding feeling.“

Mel Recchia, Alchemy Aesthetics

“The best thing about being a nurse is, well the obvious- helping people. As an Aesthetic Nurse I think it’s about making people feel better about themselves, giving them confidence. When I was a medical nurse, I think it was helping people, getting them better.

I was always very interested in anatomy and medicine. So the medical thing really interests me. I’m proud of the course that I did and I’m proud that I’ve achieved something that I can use for the rest of my life, one way or another.”

Amy Bird, KAST Aesthetics

“The best thing about being a nurse is my ability to help, care and advocate. I have always taken that so seriously since being a student. I am my patient’s nurse, their advisor, the truth teller, but also the hand holder- no matter what the specialty.”

Joolia Gilvey, The Clinic Norwich

“The best thing about being a nurse in aesthetics is building real, lasting relationships with my clients. It goes far beyond beauty, it’s about restoring confidence, empowering people, and being part of their journey to feeling like the best version of themselves.”

Emily Kerrison, EK Aesthetics

“It’s incredible to think that I became a qualified nurse back in 2013! Some days, it feels like just yesterday. After completing my nursing degree, I spent 11 years working in Intensive Care before transitioning to part-time in 2019 and eventually leaving that nursing role in 2021. During this time I also became an Independent Nurse Prescriber.

Now, as an Aesthetic Nurse, I sometimes feel like people overlook the fact that l’m still a nurse. However, my role remains heavily centered on patient care and wellbeing. Despite the shift in focus, my commitment to nursing remains unwavering.”

To every nurse reading this: thank you. Your work is meaningful, your presence is powerful, and your impact is immeasurable. We’re so grateful to be on this journey with you.

Happy International Nurses Day!
